  • College House: Service at Westminster Abbey

    A special celebratory service for College House is to be held at Westminster Abbey, London, on Tuesday 7th September 2010 and London based members of the CCOBA are cordially invited to attend.
    College House, a residential college for the University of Canterbury, began in 1850 as the Upper Department of Christ’s College, and in 2010 celebrates the 160th anniversary of the College and the admission of their 5000th Fresher student.
    In recognition of the shared history between our two institutions, London based members of the CCOBA are cordially invited to join College House Alumni and Friends for a special celebratory service to be held at Westminster Abbey, London.
    The Choral Evensong will take place on Tuesday 7th September 2010 at 5.00pm.  A personal tour of the Abbey building will follow afterwards.
    The Abbey is close by the site in Whitehall where the Canterbury Association first met to plan settlement in Canterbury and Christchurch.  Its choir is world famous for its contribution to Anglican worship, to leadership of state occasions, and for the quality of its recordings. 
    College House warmly invites all alumni and friends of Christ’s College who are near to London to attend, and would be delighted if you could be part of this special occasion.
    The abbey requires an indication of the numbers attending early, so it is important that you confirm your attendance by the 16th July 2010.
